Living Arroyo watershed technicians and staff have been hard at work this summer maintaining restoration planting sites around the Tri-Valley. Some of these sites, including those at Portola Avenue and Stanley Reach, expanded over the winter with new plantings of coast live oak and valley oak acorns. The seedlings will grow into new canopy in the coming years, providing habitat for native fauna.

Now that fall has arrived, Living Arroyos creek cleanup events are back in full swing. Event season kicked off with California Coastal Cleanup Day on September 19th, where volunteers across 11 sites removed 2,841 pounds of trash! Living Arroyos will host monthly creek cleanups in Livermore, Dublin, and Pleasanton through April.

By restoring important riparian habitat and connecting with local communities, Living Arroyos promotes environmental stewardship in the Tri-Valley. To learn more and to volunteer in your community, visit www.livingarroyos.org.
