Research shows that learning outside of the classroom is a great way for young people to grow their interests and learn to take care of the natural world and protect it for the future. Through a Bureau of Land Management Grant, Utah State University and University of California extension staff have developed mustang camps promoting healthy lands and healthy horses across the United States.

This will be the third year for the northern California camp and this year, they are partnering to expand the Mustang Camp into a three-day, two-night Range and Mustang Camp, August 6-8, 2026. This camp will also serve as the California state Range Camp through the CalPac section of the Society for Range Management.

Exciting News! The ACRCD can sponsor 2-3 kids to attend Range and Mustang Camp. Contact marilyn.harvey@acrcd.org if interested!
